04 Apr Important Changes to TPS Health Pilates Classes
What’s in a name?
A lot according to the Department of Health.
From April 1st 2019, the government’s recent Private Health Insurance reforms have decided that rebates will no longer be available for a number of therapies, one of them being Pilates.
The department did however confirm that physiotherapists are the ONLY practitioners eligible to deliver exercises drawn from Pilates within their scope of practice and claim rebates.
Going forward, all classes formerly known as Pilates must therefore now reflect physiotherapy first and foremost.
The new name for our classes will therefore be; Clinical Exercise Classes
Will the classes be the same? Yes
Will you still use Pilates reformers and Pilates techniques? Yes
Will you still be able to claim on your health fund? Yes
For further information on the (PHI) reforms and the April 1st changes, please contact our reception team, otherwise we look forward to seeing you at your next Clinical Exercise Class.
